Are you having so much fun playing softball this spring that you don’t want the
season to end? Well, you don’t have to stop playing in June. In summer, BRYC
often sponsors teams in the Fairfax County Girls Softball League (FCGSL). These
teams are for players who want to further develop their softball skills and
continue playing softball during the summer. These are not select teams, but
often select players get their start by playing on these teams.
The teams are formed only for the summer, and disband
before the fall season.
The summer season runs from approximately mid-June through the last week in
July. Teams will play approximately 12 to 24 games over 6 weeks. Teams play
one or two weeknight double headers. Practices will be determined by the Coach,
and are usually weekday late afternoons or weekend afternoons.
The number of BRYC teams that we field depends upon the number of players with
interest and the number of parents willing to coach. In 2009, BRYC fielded
teams at 10u, 12u, and 16u levels.
Check back in May 2010 for information
about the 2010 teams.
