Game Cancellation Policy

We try to play all games.  However, the weather does not always agree with softball playing.  When the fields are very wet or muddy to the extent that players could be hurt or the fields damaged, we will cancel or delay games.  If we believe that we can rake a field enough so that it will dry later in the day, we will delay the start of a game rather than cancel it.  If we can find an alternate field to play on, we will move the game to that field.

If is more the rain the day or night before a game that causes us to cancel games, rather than the weather at game time.  A heavy evening rain will turn a field into mud.  Thus, it is always a good idea to check the BRYC web page or phone line the morning after rain to see if the games are still on.

We also use Fairfax County Park fields.  Sometimes the Park Authority will close a field even though it appears playable.  In these situations, we follow the Park Authority directives to stay off the fields.
